With great sadness, it was announced that Rev. Joseph Tong passed away early this morning.Rev. Tong served as our beloved Cantonese Pastor from 1975 to 1990. Unlike many other pastors that retires, he continued to attend CIBC. His wife, to this day, continues to be very active in serving in various ministries. She cared for both Rev. Tong and her mother. He suffered from a heart attack due to a high blood sugar level.
Monday Update: I spoke to Esther today and she sounded quite well. They are awaiting Enoch's arrival from China sometime this week. Esther is here alone and will be staying until the end of March to help her mom. She has limited access to email, but will check whenever possible, so you can just email her at weraj@hotmail.com. Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time.
Tuesday Update: The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 10, 2 p.m. at CIBC.
